We already have a backup system. Is that enough?
Maybe, maybe not. We check whether the jobs complete, whether they cover what you think they cover, and whether a restore works. That last test is the one most backups fail.
Isn’t OneDrive or Dropbox a backup?
No — they sync. Delete a file in one place and it disappears everywhere; ransomware encrypts the local copy and the cloud copy follows. Real backup keeps separate, versioned copies you can roll back to.
How often should restores be tested?
At least a couple of times a year for critical systems, and every time the setup changes. We run the test, document the result, and fix whatever breaks — before it matters.
